Welcome to InvoSplit. We take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how InvoSplit ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, stores, and protects your personal information when you use our mobile application and website at invosplit.com (collectively, the "Service").
By using InvoSplit, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
- Account information: your name, email address, and password when you create an account.
- Profile information: optional profile photo and display name.
- Expense data: bills, amounts, descriptions, and group information you enter into the app.
- Communications: messages you send to our support team.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Device information: device type, operating system version, and unique device identifiers.
- Usage data: features you use, screens you visit, and actions you take within the app.
- Log data: IP address, access times, and app crash reports.
2.3 Information We Do Not Collect
We do not collect your bank account details, credit card numbers, or any payment instrument information. InvoSplit tracks who owes what — it does not process or store actual financial transactions.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and manage your account
- Provide and operate the InvoSplit Service
- Enable you to split bills and track shared expenses with others
- Send you notifications about expense activity in your groups
- Respond to your support requests
- Improve the reliability, performance, and features of the Service
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising purposes.
4. How We Share Your Information
4.1 With Other Users
When you join a group or accept a friend invite, your name and profile photo are visible to members of that group. Expense data you add to a group is visible to all members of that group.
4.2 Service Providers
We use trusted third-party service providers to operate the Service, including:
- Supabase — database and authentication infrastructure
- Apple / Google — app distribution and optional sign-in
These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data and may only use it to provide services on our behalf.
4.3 Legal Requirements
We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, court order, or governmental authority, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of InvoSplit, our users, or others.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or compliance purposes.
Expense data shared within a group may be retained in anonymised or aggregated form after account deletion.
6. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access to personal data is restricted to authorised personnel on a need-to-know basis.
No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
- Delete your account and associated personal data
- Export your data in a portable format
- Object to certain types of data processing

8. Children's Privacy
InvoSplit is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting a notice in the app or by email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
